How do I enter my child in the competition?

How do we pay for the competition?

Payments will be collected on the first night of CSC. Payment can be made with either cash or card. If paying with cash, ensure to bring it in a sealed envelope with your child’s name on it. 

 How do I get my child’s school involved?

Let us know if you would like to enter a school team and we will get in touch with your school. 

What happens on a Friday night?

Games will be played between 6:30pm and 8:30pm on Friday nights. Teams will be required to be at the pool for an hour during this period to play their games. After their games, players and their families can grab a bite to eat and then head home. 

What do the participants need to bring on game nights?

All Water Polo equipment is supplied, just bring swimmers and a towel. 

Does my child need to have played water polo before?

We encourage players to have some Water Polo experience however, if they are a strong swimmer they are welcome to come give it a go. Check out our Junior Dolphins program if you are interested in learning more about the game – http://canberrawaterpoloacademy.com/junior-dolphins/

Will there be food and drink available at the competition?

Yes! We hope to provide a variety of food options over the course of the competition. We will also be serving drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) on the night for parents wishing to wind down for the week. 


Teacher FAQs

How do I enter a team?

Teams can be entered by emailing info@canberrawaterpoloacademy.com We will send you a link for individuals to enter their details so we can get in touch with them. 

What happens if I don’t have enough students to enter a stand-alone team?

Composite or combined teams will be formed with individuals or small groups of players who can’t get a full school team together. 

What do I have to do on Friday game nights?

Teachers have the option to attend, but aren’t required if they do not wish. We can appoint a team coach and parent manager who is qualified and has all the necessary working with children checks.  

What do I do if I don’t have any equipment (caps and balls)?

We will supply all equipment. Players just need to bring swimmers and a towel. 

What do you need me to do?

Teachers will be the main contact point at the school and will be required to distribute information to students and parents. This could be done on seesaw (or similar platform) as well as passing out student flyers. 

Is there training opportunities for the students in the school team?

There is no requirement for schools to train, however we have team and individual training options for schools and students. 

What COVID protocols will be in place?

We will be complying with VIVA Leisure, WPACT and our own COVID safe protocols. These are available on our website.
