The ACT Men’s Team has taken you the Australian Country Championships for the third year straight.

The boys were playing catch up for most of the game, but in a tremendous display of determination the boys mounted a final quarter comeback. With 1 minute remaining the boys were rewarded a kick-out where captain coach Richard Davis called a time-out. After clinical passing and movement and the extra-man time running out, Tim Reeves stepped up to strike the ball into the back of the net from a difficult position, leveling up the game 7-7.

This was the final goal of regular time, which meant the game would be decided through penalty shootout. With ACT shooting first, Richard Davis, Nathan Sinclair, Bart Badalassi, Tim Reeves and Justin Trabinger all converted their penalties. NSW converted their first 4 shots, leaving their last shooter the game deciding shot. With Sam Elliot in goals, the final shot was saved and the champions were once again ACT.

Check out the final shots of the penalty shootout in the link below.

The ACT Women’s team also had good results at the championships playing off for Bronze on the last day. Unfortunately the girls went down to Western Australia placing them 4th overall.
