Junior Dolphins
The Junior Dolphins program is for kids aged 7 – 13 who are interested in trying the sport of water polo. Water polo is a great sport for young athletes. It provides a healthy environment for kids to get fit and make new friends. Water polo is a swimming based team sport which incorporates a range of skills and is similar to other land based sports such as basketball, soccer and handball.
The Junior Dolphins program is a fun introduction to the sport of water polo and sessions will comprise of basic skill training and modified games. The program is aimed at improving children’s swimming ability and water confidence in a fun team sport environment.
The only requirement is that your child can swim 25 meters Freestyle.
The Junior Dolphins program is aimed at young athletes who have progressed to the final levels of swim school programs and are looking for a sport that utilises their swimming ability in a team sport.

1 Session Per Week = $150

Double the fun and double the training! Enjoy two weekly sessions to boost your skills and teamwork.
3+ Sessions Per Week = $300, No Extra Cost!
For our enthusiastic Junior Dolphins who can't get enough of the game, join us for three or more sessions every week at no extra cost.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Our session prices cover all Junior Dolphins training and Canberra Schools Comp (CSC) sessions, taking place at various pools across the region.

PLEASE NOTE:
While our session prices include all training and game nights, it's important to remember that they do not cover pool entry fees. Junior Dolphins are required to pay the regular pool entry fee each week.

Junior Dolphins Siblings Discount!
Sibling Discount - Starting Term 3, 2024!
We are excited to introduce our new Sibling Discount for families with multiple Junior Dolphins! Starting in Term 3, 2024, the first child to train with Junior Dolphins or play in the Combined Schools Comp will pay the full price, while any siblings will receive a 75% discount on their sessions.
How It Works
First Child: $150 per term (1 session per week)
Second Child: $37.50 per term (75% discount)
Third Child: $37.50 per term (75% discount)
For Example:
One Child: $150 per term
Two Children: $187.50 per term
Three Children: $225 per term
This sibling discount applies to all Junior Dolphins training and Combined Schools Comp (CSC) sessions across various locations. It's our way of making it easier for families to participate and enjoy water polo together.
Automatic Discount: When signing up online, the sibling discount will be automatically applied at the checkout when you register the siblings together.

Any players wishing to attend a Junior Dolphins session has to register with the session they on the Junior Dolphins page. You have the option to join directly or book a free trial.

The only requirement is that your child can swim 25m Freestyle.

It is free to trial before you decide to commit for the term or the remainder of the term.

You can join the program at any time throughout the term. A pro rata fee will be automatically applied in the registration system.

You can pay using the class for kids’ registration system (credit card) or cash.
Class for kids payment system uses encrypted credit card payment. This does incur a credit card processing fee of approximately 5%
Squad leaders can collect cash payment directly at the start of the session. This does not incur any additional fee.

We play modified games during the training sessions to help prepare them for competitive games. We provide competition options through the Canberra Schools Competition and Club water polo.

A typical Junior Dolphins session consist of a short water or dry land warm up. The kids will progress through water polo skills like swimming, ball handling, passing, shooting, defending and attacking. The sessions go for 45 to 55 minutes and usually consist of a modified game at the end.

The participants need to bring swimmers, goggles and a towel.

If you miss a session for any reason, you are able to make that session up at any of the other Junior Dolphin locations in that training cycle. There are no make-up sessions that carry over into the next term.

The Junior Dolphins training cycle runs for 10 weeks and coincides with the ACT school term. There is junior dolphins training or competitions during the ACT school holidays.
